A Local Business Built on Word of Mouth
Greenhithe Plumbing Services was founded by Alan Mercer, a Greenhithe-born tradesman who trained with a Dartford plumbing firm before setting up on his own in 2009. What started as a one-man band serving neighbours and friends on London Road has grown into a small, trusted team covering the whole of the DA9 area and beyond.
The business has grown almost entirely through word of mouth and customer referrals. We have never done billboard advertising or phone-book ads. The reviews on our Google listing tell the story: customers who have used us for an emergency call-out become customers who book us for their boiler service, their bathroom renovation and their rental property CP12s.
Today the team consists of four Gas Safe registered engineers, all of whom have been with the company for at least four years. We do not use subcontractors for our core work — the people who come to your home are employees of Greenhithe Plumbing Services with consistent training, consistent standards and consistent accountability.

All repairs and installations are backed by a 12-month guarantee on our workmanship. Manufacturer warranties are additional.
We carry £2 million public liability insurance and employer's liability insurance. Certificates available on request.
How We Work
Reliability
We turn up when we say we will. We call ahead if we are running late. We do not cancel at the last minute. This sounds basic — but it is apparently quite rare.
Fair Pricing
We quote upfront and do not add charges that were not agreed. Our prices are competitive for a Gas Safe registered, insured, experienced local business.
Quality Workmanship
We take care with every job, large or small. We protect flooring, clean up after ourselves and make sure the work looks as good as it functions.
